Online Trauma & PTSD Therapy in Ontario
Trauma has a way of living in the body long after the event has passed. You might feel on edge, disconnected, or like the past keeps showing up in your present. Your nervous system learned to protect you. Therapy can help you feel safer in your body, understand these patterns, and create space for healing at your own pace.

Frequently Asked Questions About Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy helps you process and heal from distressing experiences that continue to affect your daily life. I use EMDR, somatic therapy, and IFS to help your nervous system feel safe again, at a pace that always feels right for you.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help your brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. Recognized by the World Health Organization for treating PTSD, EMDR helps the brain process traumatic and painful memories.
Somatic therapy recognizes that trauma is stored in the body, not just the mind. Rather than only talking about what happened, somatic therapy helps you tune into physical sensations, tension, and patterns held in your body. By gently working with these sensations, your nervous system can release stored stress and return to a more regulated, grounded state.
IFS views the mind as made up of different parts, some of which carry pain or protective roles developed in response to trauma. IFS therapy helps you build a compassionate relationship with all of your parts, reducing inner conflict and allowing deeper, lasting healing to take place.
No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to benefit from trauma therapy. Many people carry the effects of difficult experiences without meeting the clinical criteria for PTSD. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like past events are still affecting your present, therapy can help.
